How Did It Get So Late So Soon? The Effects of Time Management Knowledge and Practice on Students’ Time Management Skills and Academic Performance

Time management is regarded as an important prerequisite for effective and efficient learning in higher education. However, university students’ time frequently proves to be deficient, especially with freshman students, who can therefore benefit from appropriate interventions. The aim of this study was compare the effects intervention focused on imparting knowledge those practice. We conducted experiment N = 118 students took part a course over duration one semester. Participants deficit at beginning semester (n 88) were randomly assigned three experimental conditions: (a) knowledge, (b) practice, (c) control group. Exam scores end considered indicator participants’ academic performance. results showed significant improvements both groups, but practice group appeared superior. Academic performance better also, although inconsistent. effect mediated by skills.
